I am so glad that Irene is behind us. We came out okay--a little tired and a little worn out with worrying--but our basement is dry. Actually, the worst part came late yesterday afternoon when I checked the district's website and found this:
That's right. A snow day. The kids are, of course, thrilled. There was some crafting during the last week or so. About ten days ago, I cast on for Aidez. Yesterday I finished the back.
Recently I ordered the ABC Sampler pattern from Alicia Paulson. I had a Christmas idea. I started stitching last week as soon as the wool arrived.
I am really enjoying this project. I may be coming up with all sorts of ways to use this pattern.
If you were in Irene's path, I hope that you are well and breathing your own sighs of relief!

look at you clever lady....making something personalized with that alphabet...aren't you something? Love how your sweater is turning out. That color is gorgeous. So sorry your kids already had to dip into tne snow days bank for Irene.
I ordered the sampler, too, but I haven't even started mine. I love how you are personalizing yours! Glad you were all safe during the hurricane.:)
Meg, I LOVE the color you chose for Aidez! You'll get so much wear of it! And I'm with Lisa...I love how you're crafting out of the box and making a personalized gift with the sampler! I wouldn't have thought of that...but now the pattern is so much more appealing.
