What I'm Into: the Happy New Year edition

I'm linking up with Leigh again after a few months off:
It has been quite a January!  Here's what I've been into so far this year.:

Researching and purchasing a new family computer; estimating how much I want to spend for a laptop for myself and making a savings plan for that.

After Christmas, AMC showed the entire series of Breaking Bad, and we recorded it.  This is now our new part-time job--watching Breaking Bad.  It is horrifying, it is dark, it is sick, it is funny.  It is NOT a family show, so we have to save it until the kids are all upstairs in bed.

Going on the new computer to look up  the manual for our thermostat.  It has gone rogue on us--deciding to jump ahead a half day or so on the program.

Measuring snow, sending pictures to relatives, and shoveling snow.

Being trapped underneath a thirteen-year-old who wants to have an extended selfie session with my phone!  And then deleting most of the fifty or so pictures because I do not enjoy blurry selfies.

Two down, one more to go for Season Three!  Sherlock is why I am so tired on Monday mornings.  My daughter has already seen the whole season, but I wanted to watch them as they aired.  She is under strict instructions not to leak any spoilers, although I am prepared to be blown away on Sunday night.  This is a show that we let the kids watch, so I record it and let the kids watch it later.

And yesterday morning, I discovered water on the basement floor.  As much as we didn't want to make this purchase right now, all I can think is how lucky we were that I found it at this stage.  According to the plumber, this water heater was leaking from just about every opening.

So that was January--full of stops and starts--holidays and snow days.  It's good to be back.

Meg! I originally included Breaking Bad in my What I'm Into post. But.. I think I may have overdone it this week with the snow days and our evenings free from regular commitments.

I didn't sleep well last night because my mind was spinning with all the anxiety and wondering what will happen next! (We are one episode away from finishing season 2.)

Does that mean I'm giving it up? No way! But I realized I need to limit the amount I watch in one week.

I would be crying if I was around that much snow! Yikes. Sherlock has been blowing my mind, too. Definitely worth staying up later on Sunday nights.

I'm so afraid of starting Breaking Bad. I'm pretty sure that if I were to record the whole series, I wouldn't sleep until I had finished it! :-)
