It's the Mikey show!

My brother is the only one posting comments, and he's also sending me pictures. Apparently he didn't like the first picture I posted of him. I think it's cute! Anyway, he sent me this one---you're supposed to notice his awesome, powerful calves. Also, I guess his powerful forearms! Since I don't know anything else about the picture, we'll just have to focus on the muscles! Mike, feel free to chime in regarding the picture! Poor kid, I just wish his self-esteem were better! (giggle)

In Honor of My First Comment

Well, I'm excited! My little bro not only read but also posted a comment. In his honor (and because he thinks this will increase traffic), I'm posting his picture. (That's him on the right.) Thanks, Mikey!

Getting there?

Okay, so nobody has posted a comment, but I've heard from one friend who has read the blog. That's progress, right? Especially considering that two friends couldn't even access this page. Anyway, it's Monday, and it's summer, which means I'm wondering how on Earth to fill the rest of the day. We've got the mornings down pretty well--gym, swim lessons, and lunch after Mommy showers. Then it's 12:30, with 8 hours to go 'til bedtime. I have some ideas, but they usually only take 10 minutes to do, so I spend more time preparing and cleaning up than actually doing whatever the activity is. Maybe this is why preschool days are so short! I don't remember much about summers when I was a kid. I mean, I remember the beach trips and swim team practice, but I don't remember the day-to-day stuff. How did we pass the time?

On an unrelated note, I saw a hilarious video featuring a very pregnant Jenna Elfman playing basketball. Someone over at TV Squad wrote about it--very funny. The video came from the Funny or Die website. Also pretty funny.

What else is going on this Monday? I'll probably finish re-reading HP5 in the next couple of days. I decided to re-read 5 and 6 to get ready for Deathly Hallows. I also reserved my copy this weekend! Now, do I really nerd out and go at midnight, or do I wait until the next day? And what day of the week does July 21 fall on this year? For some reason, I'm thinking the midnight release will be a Friday night thing--that could work. It's hard to get excited about staying up late for a Tuesday, right?

My one friend who said she read my blog said I needed to put pictures of my kids on here, so that's them at the top of this post. This is from last week--we went to Longwood Gardens with two of their cousins.

Moderately Frustrating

So, I have a blog, I tell my friends about it, and none of them can access it. And I can't get my title thing to show up because it has blown up the picture to huge proportions. And yet here is the same picture in a normal size. I think this is known as "working out the kinks." Bear with me!

And so it begins...

Actually, this is my second attempt at a website/blog, only maybe this time I'll finally publish it! Now that I've started typing, my two youngest have returned from upstairs, so I'll probably have to quit soon.

About the title of the blog, it's an expression I borrowed from my younger daughter, Caitlin. She often makes pronouncements, and once recently she said, "it's a lucky duck day, Mommy!" So there you have it.

I'm almost finished with my coffee, which means we'll have to get to the gym soon. On Tuesday, I dragged my feet on the whole coffee/gym thing, and we ended up in the ER to have my son's hand glued shut. (He's fine, but now we know that metal tape measures are not toys!)

I've often debated whether to blog--it's sort of like having your diary out there for all to read, and frankly, I'm not that interesting. But then, it's also like a one-sided phone conversation, and if anyone cares to listen, here it is. (Again, be warned about the "not that interesting" part.) I hope you'll visit often and leave comments, too. Now my washing machine is beeping at me and Caitlin is requesting that I type various words into the computer, so perhaps it's best if I sign off for now.
